What is BBB Accreditation?
It is a voluntary review of a business against BBB Accreditation Standards. A business that is approved can be listed as Accredited in the BBB Directory and use the BBB Seal under its licensing rules. The business must keep meeting the standards.

Why should a Texas business consider Accreditation?
It provides a verifiable public commitment to BBB's Standards for Trust. Approved businesses can use the Seal and their BBB Business Profile, with access to relevant BBB tools and support. The useful question is how those resources fit your business and customers. Accreditation does not guarantee leads, revenue, or search placement.

How much does BBB Accreditation cost in Texas?
There is an annual fee, and BBB says its fees depend on factors including business size. I won't quote a single statewide number that may be wrong for your company. Tell me your business name, city, employee count, and number of locations; I'll review the current dues and explain what is included before you decide.

What are the Standards for Trust?
The eight standards are: Build Trust, Advertise Honestly, Tell the Truth, Be Transparent, Honor Promises, Be Responsive, Safeguard Privacy, and Embody Integrity. They describe the practices an Accredited Business commits to maintaining.

Who qualifies for BBB Accreditation?
BBB reviews each business. The published standards generally call for a positive marketplace track record, required licensing, at least six months of operation or a qualifying prior track record, and at least a B rating across company-owned locations and headquarters. Eligibility and approval are determined by BBB, not by this website.

Does a BBB rating mean a business is Accredited?
No. BBB reports on Accredited and non-accredited businesses. A business can have a strong rating without Accreditation.

Does Accreditation guarantee my business will rank higher on Google or in AI answers?
No. BBB Accreditation is a trust and business-practices program, not a ranking guarantee. A complete, accurate public profile can help people understand and verify your business, but no honest person can promise a particular search or AI result.

What happens after a business applies?
BBB reviews the business against its standards and may approve it, request more information, or decline it. Timing varies by region and the facts of the application. I can help you understand what information to prepare and what happens next.
